I'm using Finnix 90.0. My system has SATA hard drives. My /boot partition uses RAID1, my other partitions use logical volumes on top of RAID5. My distribution is debian etch.
I can mount my /boot partition. Although all my logical volumes show up via utilities such as lvdisplay, I'm not able to mount them. I think the error diagnostic I get when trying to display a volume group or logical volume is significant:
/proc/misc: No entry for device-mapper found
Is device-mapper driver from kernel?
Failure to communicate with kernel device-mapper driver.
...
Incompatible libdevmapper 1.82.20 (2007-86-15)(compat) and kernel driver
Is this a bug?
