Ok heres my questions. Kinda long but maybe someone can help. I'm gonna be trying to use Finnix on an old IMac G3 I have. I think its the beige model but in any case its 500Mhz and I think the screen is 15 inches (if its not that it has to be 14 inches) but its around that spectrum. I haven't installed it yet. Hopefully it will go smoothly as I've had so much trouble already with Debian, Suse, Mandrake, Fedora and Ubuntu. (Debian was the only one that installed but the GUI refused to start, gives me a black screen when I select ATI card and when I select VGA it gives me Unix and no GUI). I looked at your screenshots and it looks like as a GUI, you use FVWM (Windowmaker). Now if I decide to put a theme on there from http://fvwm-themes.sourceforge.net/ how can I get the files from the CD to the desktop as I am having trouble finding ways to mount, read, and copy files out of FVWM from CD media.
Second question, I'm going to be buying an Intel Conroe Processor with an NVIDIA 512 MB video card. My brother is putting a PC together for me. Will Finnix work well with that? If not, then what would be best for it as far as Unix is concerned?

Finnix is a Linux utility CD, it contains no GUI. I'm thinking you have Finnix confused with another distro.Posted Sat, 16 Sep 2006 14:54:03 -0700

Hello guys,
I am a heavy Linux fan. On my laptop I run PCLINUXOS 2007. Great distro. I have 3 USB sticks. One is 4GB, one is 1 Gb and one is 256Mb. On the lather I installed Finnix using "finnix-thumbdrive".
This was really a piece of cake. 2 minutes and ready to go. My compliments .It took me a lot more effort to get Backtrack 2 on the 4Gig stick.I really love to work on the command-line
